Sometime in early 2008 I was discussing the upcoming U.S. Presidential election with a friend. I commented that, given the candidates, this would be yet another election of voting against someone rather than for someone since the only choices were a democrat or a republican. He disagreed and pointed out that there were third-party candidates running. I, being at least as apathetic and complacent as the great majority of Americans, hadn’t even considered the possibility that a third-party candidate might be a viable option to the two-party system that I had been brainwashed to accept as the only option.
Not that I was not aware that there were third-party candidates, having voted for Ross Perot in earlier elections, but I had come to believe that a third-party candidate couldn’t win, which, as I was to learn, is exactly what the republicrats wanted me to think. I asked my friend to name some candidates he thought may be worth considering. He named several, including Bob Barr, Chuck Baldwin, and Ron Paul, all of which I had never heard of, again, by design. He seemed most excited about Ron Paul so, at my earliest opportunity, I began to research Ron Paul on the internet.
Well, I was very pleasantly surprised by what I found. The more I learned, the more I wanted to know. I bought Ron Paul’s book The Revolution: A Manifesto and read it cover-to-cover non-stop. I was surprised and encouraged to learn there was a grassroots revolution going on right under my nose, and I hadn’t even been aware of it. I was particularly fascinated by the Federal Reserve, its role in the history of the United States, and especially its role in the deterioration of the American Republic. I continued reading everything I could find online which ultimately lead me to G. Edward Griffin and his book The Creature from Jekyll Island.
These two books completely changed my perspective on America, and indeed the world. I became part of The Revolution and I’ve never looked back.
I read constantly, and I found it nearly impossible to keep track of what I’d read and where I read it. I started this blog as a library of information I’d read to make it easier to find the information when I wanted to refer to it, for my own use or for the purpose of educating others. I continue to add material on current events and other relevant information. It is a living resource for me, and I hope for others, and it continues to grow on a daily basis.
