It’s Not About Drugs

DEA to legalize marijuana chemical for Big Pharma but keep it a crime for everyone else
Have no illusions about the true nature of the so-called “War on Drugs” and the actions of the DEA. The War on Drugs has always been about protecting the profits of the drug companies which have a long and well-documented history of copying street drugs, repackaging them as “medications” and selling them to children as FDA-approved drugs. 5 Years After: Portugal’s Drug Decriminalization Policy Shows Positive Results
In the face of a growing number of deaths and cases of HIV linked to drug abuse, the Portuguese government in 2001 tried a new tack to get a handle on the problem—it decriminalized the use and possession of heroin, cocaine, marijuana, LSD and other illicit street drugs. The theory: focusing on treatment and prevention instead of jailing users would decrease the number of deaths and infections.

Five years later, the number of deaths from street drug overdoses dropped from around 400 to 290 annually, and the number of new HIV cases caused by using dirty needles to inject heroin, cocaine and other illegal substances plummeted from nearly 1,400 in 2000 to about 400 in 2006,  according to a report released recently by the Cato Institute, a Washington, D.C, libertarian think tank.

How to Defeat the Drug Lords
Quote of the day: “There are some general features of a socialist enterprise, whether it’s the Post Office, schools or the war on drugs. The enterprise is inefficient, expensive, very advantageous to a small group of people and harmful to a lot of people.” — Milton Friedman

The federal government’s Merida Initiative is a $1.6 billion program to “help” the Mexican government fight the drug cartels.

As you’ll see below, the results have been catastrophic. But Congress can help defeat the cartels and bring an end to this tragedy . . .

* without sending troops
* or more foreign “aid”
* while making your streets safer
* and saving the taxpayers tens of billions per year

Instead of supporting Mexico’s militarization of the Drug War, we can bankrupt the cartels.

We can do this by embracing our most cherished national values, individual liberty and personal responsibility.

If we end drug prohibition, the cartels will lose their obscene black-market profits which they use to terrorize both Mexico and the United States.

If you want . . .

* peace and stability in Mexico,
* with lower crime and more freedom in the U.S.,
* then please tell Congress to end the War on Drugs.

You may borrow from, modify, or copy this letter . . .

Drugs are not tearing Mexico apart, drug PROHIBITION is! As Harvard Economist Jeffrey Miron notes: http://tinyurl.com/dmycbr

“Prohibition creates violence because it drives the drug market underground. This means buyers and sellers cannot resolve their disputes with lawsuits, arbitration or advertising, so they resort to violence instead. Violence was common in the alcohol industry when it was banned during Prohibition, but not before or after.”

The news of Prohibition-caused violence south of the border is quite sobering . . .

* 22,700 have died in Mexico’s War on Drugs since December, 2006  http://tinyurl.com/2dyya7u
* Which is FOUR TIMES the number of U.S. military deaths in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars since 2001   http://www.icasualties.org
* More and more Mexicans are fleeing to America, NOT to “seek a better life” but because they fear for their lives http://tinyurl.com/2dthkhu
* Violence is spreading to once-peaceful cities http://tinyurl.com/y8x9vth
* Tourism is plummeting, and charitable missions to Mexico have been cancelled

But there is hope. Paul Armentano of NORML shows how we can defeat the drug lords. He notes that . . .  http://tinyurl.com/3ygpegl

* Between 60 and 70 percent of the profits reaped by Mexican drug lords are derived from the exportation and sale of cannabis to the American market
* 28 percent of their profits are derived from the distribution of cocaine

If Congress repealed federal drug prohibition laws . . .

* the narcotics business would move from the black market, governed by violence, to the open market governed by the rule of law
* which means that drug users could start purchasing from legitimate businesses
* drugs would be regulated and taxed by the states in pharmacies and drug stores, not purchased on the streets and school grounds
* drug abusers could be treated for their addictions just as we successfully do with alcohol and cigarettes
* prison crowding would end, providing room to keep true social threats behind bars
* drug pushers and street gangs would see their profits disappear
* and drug lords from Mexico to Afghanistan would be crippled by financial losses

America has enough problems. The last thing we need is for the chaos in Mexico to spread here. End drug prohibition in America now, and the Mexican drug lords will suffer a fatal blow.

Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking Act (PACT)

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Electronic CigarettesTobacco cigarette prices range from $4 to $10 per pack, depending on where you live. Using e-cigarettes as an alternative may cut that cost in half and save the consumers thousands of dollars per year. Enter the rationale to ban the electric smokes for no other reason than to protect the tax revenue. When you can’t compete against a product in the American free enterprise system, the only solution is to eliminate it through legislation.

The Obama administration recently achieved this with the PACT Act, which took away the American Indians ability to compete with big tobacco by selling their cigarettes across the country on the Internet. The PACT Act passed by unanimous consent without a vote or a hearing on a late night in March, 2010 in another one of those back room deals by our Open and Transparent Government.

The Act bans the shipment of cigarettes and certain tobacco products through the U.S. Postal Service, which effectively cut off the competitive low cost method of delivery from Internet stores and handed big tobacco corporations a huge victory over a competitor. Tribal leaders say this is an attack on tribal sovereignty and economies and this will devastate American Indian tobacco businesses across the country.

For all online mail order cigarette sales outlets in the U.S.A. it means much more then not being able to ship cigarettes, roll your own loose tobacco, or smokeless tobacco & snuff to ANY consumer through the US Mail after June 30th… It also means that ALL online – mail order suppliers located on U.S.A. soil will have to report all sales and provide all contact & personal information available on ALL buyers of their products to all States for collection of all State imposed sales/excise taxes and to report to all State Attorney Generals for confirmation, verification and/or possible prosecution of violators. Any seller of tobacco products that is physically located within the U.S.A.; including those on any and all Indian Reservations that fails to comply with all of the laws contained in the PACT Act, as of March 31, are subject to physical inspection (raids) by the ATF and seizure of all records, computers, and equipment on the premises. It also means that the Jenkins Act is rendered obsolete and has been replaced by the new Federal imposed PACT Act.

It is important to note here that by US Senate Amendment to this version of the PACT Act, the ATF has the authority RIGHT NOW, even before the Act goes into full effect, to enter, inspect and/or seize records from ANY U.S.A. located (established) online – mail order business office or headquarters. Many of the current online sellers are urging their customers to “stock up” prior to June 30th because of the US Postal Service shipping issue… What they are not telling customers is that any past or future purchase info now could end up in the hands of the authorities!

Online mail order cigarette sales outlets NOT located in the U.S.A. can in no way be forced by U.S.A. authorities to comply with the PACT Act. Sovran Solutions Online, a company located in Panama states: “U.S.A. authorities can NOT come here to Panama to seize any records on SSO Members or their purchases and aren’t you happy to know that there are absolutely no SSO records of any kind within U.S.A. jurisdiction? Isn’t it also reassuring that because of SSO’s exclusive Private Payment account system provided to ALL SSO Members absolutely free; which allows Members to pay for purchases in complete privacy AND guarantees that legal “point of sale” is in the Republic of Panama so the U.S.A. authorities can NOT access information about your tobacco purchases through your credit card company, Bank checking system or Bank debit card system?”

SSO has expressed it’s intent to “continue delivering a full line of Un-State Taxed cigarette & tobacco products to our Members after June 30th when the US Postal Service will no longer deliver tobacco products to any U.S.A. consumer.” Since the U.S. Postal Service will no longer deliver tobacco products “there will need to be some” (as yet unannounced) “changes in the SSO product delivery system.”

How big is the invisible part of your tax bill?

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

You’ve paid your federal taxes.

You keep watching the national debt soar.

Do you think those two items cover the full cost of the federal government?

Do you think you’re done paying?

Not even close.

There are also invisible costs that impact you, your family, your neighbors, and your community. These costs afflict . . .

the teenager who can’t find a summer job because of the federal minimum wage law
* the financially-struggling mom who can’t find toys for her kids at the local thrift store because of the CPSIA
* small businesses that fail because they can’t afford to comply with regulations designed for big businesses
* the local store that closes because of an honest tax-filing mistake
* the budget-strapped state government that’s forced to cut services to comply with unfunded federal mandates

These are just a few examples. Regulations raise your prices and reduce your choices. They could also cost you your job.

If you include the “regulation tax” of compliance expenses and lost income, the total cost of the federal government increases by 34%.

And there’s a grave threat ahead. As Clyde Wayne Crews reports in “Ten Thousand Commandments”. . .

* trillion-dollar deficits will make Congress reluctant to create more tax-and-spend programs
* yet they will want to keep their power and influence
* which means they will likely impose more requirements and regulations on states, business, and even YOU

Think of what they did in the healthcare bill. Not having the guts to raise taxes the old-fashioned way, Congress instead forced you to buy insurance, businesses to provide insurance, and states to create insurance exchanges. Expect more of this behavior. Instead of creating new programs, Congress and the bureaucrats will impose their social goals through mandates and regulations.

Let’s reverse this destructive course! Tell Congress to reduce federal regulations.

You may borrow from or copy this letter . . .

The Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) reports that federal regulations sucked $1.187 trillion from the economy in 2009. http://cei.org/issue-analysis/2010/04/15/ten-thousand-commandments-2010

That’s a $10,000 tax on each family. In fact, it’s more than what families and corporations will pay in income taxes this year!

$1.187 trillion could also create more than 23 million jobs paying $50,000 a year — more than enough to eliminate unemployment

Cutting regulations would have done far more to create jobs than any of the so-called stimulus spending Congress passed.

But it seems that even the current level of regulation isn’t enough for our ruling class. From “food safety” to “financial reform,” to never-ending proposals for every other aspect of human life, Congress and the bureaucracy seem determined to entangle everything in red tape. But . . .

This will force many businesses to close, and others to move overseas. Americans will lose jobs, and the harm created by unemployment and poverty is almost always greater than the supposed benefits of regulation.

I demand that you reverse this course. Don’t increase regulations, CUT THEM! Here are places to start . . .

1. Tax-related paperwork costs $208 billion, although corporate income taxes raised just $147 billion – a paltry percentage of the budget. Eliminate business taxes to make American firms more competitive. This will attract companies from all over the world.

2. Workplace regulations cost $113 billion, but Congress has no Constitutional authority to regulate employer-employee relationships. Follow the Tenth Amendment and abolish ALL federal regulations of INTRA-state activity.

3. Don’t give in to panic and hysteria. Require a thorough cost-benefit analysis of all economic and environmental regulations. You will find that most regulations are unnecessary because there are already civil and criminal penalties for negligence and fraud.

Cut the invisible $10,000 regulation tax. Unleash the economy and let it come roaring back.

International Medical Council on Vaccination refutes vaccine propaganda with myth-busting report
To hear it from proponents of the vaccine industry, vaccines are based on rock-solid science that proves them to be completely safe and widely effective. These beliefs, however, are not factually based on real science but rather a persistent vaccine mythology that has been propagandized by the vaccine industry, medical practitioners and even governments which underwrite vaccine risks.

SOCKDOLAGER—A Tale of Davy Crockett, Charity and Congress

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

A “sockdolager” is a knock-down blow. This is a newspaper reporter’s captivating story of his unforgettable encounter with the old “Bear Hunter” from Tennessee.

From “The Life of Colonel David Crockett”, by Edward S. Ellis
(Philadelphia: Porter & Coates, 1884)

CROCKETT was then the lion of Washington. I was a great admirer of his character, and, having several friends who were intimate with him, I found no difficulty in making his acquaintance. I was fascinated with him, and he seemed to take a fancy to me.

I was one day in the lobby of the House of Representatives when a bill was taken up appropriating money for the benefit of a widow of a distinguished naval officer. Several beautiful speeches had been made in its support—rather, as I thought, because it afforded the speakers a fine opportunity for display than from the necessity of convincing anybody, for it seemed to me that everybody favored it. The Speaker was just about to put the question when Crockett arose. Everybody expected, of course, that he was going to make one of his characteristic speeches in support of the bill. He commenced:

Mr. Speaker—I have as much respect for the memory of the deceased, and as much sympathy for the sufferings of the living, if suffering there be, as any man in this House, but we must not permit our respect for the dead or our sympathy for a part of the living to lead us into an act of injustice to the balance of the living. I will not go into an argument to prove that Congress has no power to appropriate this money as an act of charity. Every member upon this floor knows it.

We have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right so to appropriate a dollar of the public money. Some eloquent appeals have been made to us upon the ground that it is a debt due the deceased. Mr. Speaker, the deceased lived long after the close of the war; he was in office to the day of his death, and I have never heard that the government was in arrears to him. This government can owe no debts but for services rendered, and at a stipulated price. If it is a debt, how much is it? Has it been audited, and the amount due ascertained? If it is a debt, this is not the place to present it for payment, or to have its merits examined. If it is a debt, we owe more than we can ever hope to pay, for we owe the widow of every soldier who fought in the War of 1812 precisely the same amount.

There is a woman in my neighborhood, the widow of as gallant a man as ever shouldered a musket. He fell in battle. She is as good in every respect as this lady, and is as poor. She is earning her daily bread by her daily labor; but if I were to introduce a bill to appropriate five or ten thousand dollars for her benefit, I should be laughed at, and my bill would not get five votes in this House. There are thousands of widows in the country just such as the one I have spoken of, but we never hear of any of these large debts to them. Sir, this is no debt.

The government did not owe it to the deceased when he was alive; it could not contract it after he died. I do not wish to be rude, but I must be plain. Every man in this House knows it is not a debt. We cannot, without the grossest corruption, appropriate this money as the payment of a debt. We have not the semblance of authority to appropriate it as a charity.

Mr. Speaker, I have said we have the right to give as much of our own money as we please. I am the poorest man on this floor. I cannot vote for this bill, but I will give one week’s pay to the object, and if every member of Congress will do the same, it will amount to more than the bill asks.”

He took his seat. Nobody replied. The bill was put upon its passage, and, instead of passing unanimously, as was generally supposed, and as, no doubt, it would, but for that speech, it received but few votes, and, of course, was lost.

Like many other young men, and old ones, too, for that matter, who had not thought upon the subject, I desired the passage of the bill, and felt outraged at its defeat. I determined that I would persuade my friend Crockett to move a reconsideration the next day.

Previous engagements preventing me from seeing Crockett that night, I went early to his room the next morning and found him engaged in addressing and franking letters, a large pile of which lay upon his table.

I broke in upon him rather abruptly, by asking him what devil had possessed him to make that speech and defeat that bill yesterday. Without turning his head or looking up from his work, he replied:

“You see that I am very busy now; take a seat and cool yourself. I will be through in a few minutes, and then I will tell you all about it.”

He continued his employment for about ten minutes, and when he had finished he turned to me and said: “Now, sir, I will answer your question. But thereby hangs a tale, and one of considerable length, to which you will have to listen.”

I listened, and this is the tale which I heard:

SEVERAL YEARS AGO I was one evening standing on the steps of the Capitol with some other members of Congress, when our attention was attracted by a great light over in Georgetown. It was evidently a large fire. We jumped into a hack and drove over as fast as we could. When we got there, I went to work, and I never worked as hard in my life as I did there for several hours. But, in spite of all that could be done, many houses were burned and many families made homeless, and, besides, some of them had lost all but the clothes they had on. The weather was very cold, and when I saw so many women and children suffering, I felt that something ought to be done for them, and everybody else seemed to feel the same way.

The next morning a bill was introduced appropriating $20,000 for their relief. We put aside all other business and rushed it through as soon as it could be done. I said everybody felt as I did. That was not quite so; for, though they perhaps sympathized as deeply with the sufferers as I did, there were a few of the members who did not think we had the right to indulge our sympathy or excite our charity at the expense of anybody but ourselves. They opposed the bill, and upon its passage demanded the yeas and nays. There were not enough of them to sustain the call, but many of us wanted our names to appear in favor of what we considered a praiseworthy measure, and we voted with them to sustain it. So the yeas and nays were recorded, and my name appeared on the journals in favor of the bill.

The next summer, when it began to be time to think about the election, I concluded I would take a scout around among the boys of my district. I had no opposition there, but, as the election was some time off, I did not know what might turn up, and I thought it was best to let the boys know that I had not forgot them, and that going to Congress had not made me too proud to go to see them.

So I put a couple of shirts and a few twists of tobacco into my saddlebags, and put out. I had been out about a week and had found things going very smoothly, when, riding one day in a part of my district in which I was more of a stranger than any other, I saw a man in a field plowing and coming toward the road. I gauged my gait so that we should meet as he came to the fence. As he came up I spoke to the man. He replied politely, but, as I thought, rather coldly, and was about turning his horse for another furrow when I said to him: “Don’t be in such a hurry, my friend; I want to have a little talk with you, and get better acquainted.”

He replied: “I am very busy, and have but little time to talk, but if it does not take too long, I will listen to what you have to say.”

I began: “Well, friend, I am one of those unfortunate beings called candidates, and…”

“’Yes, I know you; you are Colonel Crockett. I have seen you once before, and voted for you the last time you were elected. I suppose you are out electioneering now, but you had better not waste your time or mine. I shall not vote for you again.’

This was a sockdolager… I begged him to tell me what was the matter.

“Well, Colonel, it is hardly worthwhile to waste time or words upon it. I do not see how it can be mended, but you gave a vote last winter which shows that either you have not capacity to understand the Constitution, or that you are wanting in honesty and firmness to be guided by it. In either case you are not the man to represent me. But I beg your pardon for expressing it in that way. I did not intend to avail myself of the privilege of the Constitution to speak plainly to a candidate for the purpose of insulting or wounding you. I intend by it only to say that your understanding of the Constitution is very different from mine; and I will say to you what, but for my rudeness, I should not have said, that I believe you to be honest. But an understanding of the Constitution different from mine I cannot overlook, because the Constitution, to be worth anything, must be held sacred, and rigidly observed in all its provisions. The man who wields power and misinterprets it is the more dangerous the more honest he is.”

“I admit the truth of all you say, but there must be some mistake about it, for I do not remember that I gave any vote last winter upon any constitutional question.”

“No, Colonel, there’s no mistake. Though I live here in the backwoods and seldom go from home, I take the papers from Washington and read very carefully all the proceedings of Congress. My papers say that last winter you voted for a bill to appropriate $20,000 to some sufferers by a fire in Georgetown. Is that true?”

“Certainly it is, and I thought that was the last vote which anybody in the world would have found fault with.”

“Well, Colonel, where do you find in the Constitution any authority to give away the public money in charity?”

Here was another sockdolager; for, when I began to think about it, I could not remember a thing in the Constitution that authorized it. I found I must take another tack, so I said:

Davy Crockett“Well, my friend; I may as well own up. You have got me there. But certainly nobody will complain that a great and rich country like ours should give the insignificant sum of $20,000 to relieve its suffering women and children, particularly with a full and overflowing Treasury, and I am sure, if you had been there, you would have done just as I did.”

“It is not the amount, Colonel, that I complain of; it is the principle. In the first place, the government ought to have in the Treasury no more than enough for its legitimate purposes. But that has nothing to do with the question. The power of collecting and disbursing money at pleasure is the most dangerous power that can be entrusted to man, particularly under our system of collecting revenue by a tariff, which reaches every man in the country, no matter how poor he may be, and the poorer he is the more he pays in proportion to his means. What is worse, it presses upon him without his knowledge where the weight centers, for there is not a man in the United States who can ever guess how much he pays to the government.

So you see, that while you are contributing to relieve one, you are drawing it from thousands who are even worse off than he. If you had the right to give anything, the amount was simply a matter of discretion with you, and you had as much right to give $20,000,000 as $20,000. If you have the right to give to one, you have the right to give to all; and, as the Constitution neither defines charity nor stipulates the amount, you are at liberty to give to any and everything which you may believe, or profess to believe, is a charity, and to any amount you may think proper. You will very easily perceive what a wide door this would open for fraud and corruption and favoritism, on the one hand, and for robbing the people on the other.

No, Colonel, Congress has no right to give charity. Individual members may give as much of their own money as they please, but they have no right to touch a dollar of the public money for that purpose. If twice as many houses had been burned in this county as in Georgetown, neither you nor any other member of Congress would have thought of appropriating a dollar for our relief. There are about two hundred and forty members of Congress. If they had shown their sympathy for the sufferers by contributing each one week’s pay, it would have made over $13,000. There are plenty of wealthy men in and around Washington who could have given $20,000 without depriving themselves of even a luxury of life. The Congressmen chose to keep their own money, which, if reports be true, some of them spend not very creditably; and the people about Washington, no doubt, applauded you for relieving them from the necessity of giving by giving what was not yours to give.

The people have delegated to Congress, by the Constitution, the power to do certain things. To do these, it is authorized to collect and pay moneys, and for nothing else. Everything beyond this is usurpation, and a violation of the Constitution.”

I have given you an imperfect account of what he said. Long before he was through, I was convinced that I had done wrong. He wound up by saying:

“So you see, Colonel, you have violated the Constitution in what I consider a vital point. It is a precedent fraught with danger to the country, for when Congress once begins to stretch its power beyond the limits of the Constitution, there is no limit to it, and no security for the people. I have no doubt you acted honestly, but that does not make it any better, except as far as you are personally concerned, and you see that I cannot vote for you.”

I tell you I felt streaked. I saw if I should have opposition, and this man should go talking, he would set others to talking, and in that district I was a gone fawn-skin. I could not answer him, and the fact is, I did not want to. But I must satisfy him, and I said to him:

“Well, my friend, you hit the nail upon the head when you said I had not sense enough to understand the Constitution. I intended to be guided by it, and thought I had studied it full. I have heard many speeches in Congress about the powers of Congress, but what you have said there at your plow has got more hard, sound sense in it than all the fine speeches I ever heard. If I had ever taken the view of it that you have, I would have put my head into the fire before I would have given that vote; and if you will forgive me and vote for me again, if I ever vote for another unconstitutional law I wish I may be shot.”

He laughingly replied:

“Yes, Colonel, you have sworn to that once before, but I will trust you again upon one condition. You say that you are convinced that your vote was wrong. Your acknowledgment of it will do more good than beating you for it. If, as you go around the district, you will tell people about this vote, and that you are satisfied it was wrong, I will not only vote for you, but will do what I can to keep down opposition, and, perhaps, I may exert some little influence in that way.”

“If I don’t,” said I, “I wish I may be shot; and to convince you that I am in earnest in what I say, I will come back this way in a week or ten days, and if you will get up a gathering of the people, I will make a speech to them. Get up a barbecue, and I will pay for it.”

“No, Colonel, we are not rich people in this section, but we have plenty of provisions to contribute for a barbecue, and some to spare for those who have none. The push of crops will be over in a few days, and we can then afford a day for a barbecue. This is Thursday; I will see to getting it up on Saturday a week. Come to my house on Friday, and we will go together, and I promise you a very respectable crowd to see and hear you.”

“Well, I will be here. But one thing more before I say good-bye… I must know your name.”

“My name is Bunce.”

“Not Horatio Bunce?”

“Yes.”

“Well, Mr. Bunce, I never saw you before, though you say you have seen me; but I know you very well. I am glad I have met you, and very proud that I may hope to have you for my friend. You must let me shake your hand before I go.”

We shook hands and parted.

It was one of the luckiest hits of my life that I met him. He mingled but little with the public, but was widely known for his remarkable intelligence and incorruptible integrity, and for a heart brimful and running over with kindness and benevolence, which showed themselves not only in words but in acts. He was the oracle of the whole country around him, and his fame had extended far beyond the circle of his immediate acquaintance. Though I had never met him before, I had heard much of him, and but for this meeting it is very likely I should have had opposition, and had been beaten. One thing is very certain, no man could now stand up in that district under such a vote.

At the appointed time I was at his house, having told our conversation to every crowd I had met, and to every man I stayed all night with, and I found that it gave the people an interest and a confidence in me stronger than I had ever seen manifested before.

Though I was considerably fatigued when I reached his house, and, under ordinary circumstances, should have gone early to bed, I kept him up until midnight, talking about the principles and affairs of government, and got more real, true knowledge of them than I had got all my life before.

I have told you Mr. Bunce converted me politically. He came nearer converting me religiously than I had ever been before. He did not make a very good Christian of me, as you know; but he has wrought upon my mind a conviction of the truth of Christianity, and upon my feelings a reverence for its purifying and elevating power such as I had never felt before.

I have known and seen much of him since, for I respect him—no, that is not the word—I reverence and love him more than any living man, and I go to see him two or three times every year; and I will tell you, sir, if everyone who professes to be a Christian lived and acted and enjoyed it as he does, the religion of Christ would take the world by storm.

But to return to my story: The next morning we went to the barbecue, and, to my surprise, found about a thousand men there. I met a good many whom I had not known before, and they and my friend introduced me around until I had got pretty well acquainted—at least, they all knew me.

In due time notice was given that I would speak to them. They gathered around a stand that had been erected. I opened my speech by saying:

“Fellow citizens—I present myself before you today feeling like a new man. My eyes have lately been opened to truths which ignorance or prejudice, or both, had heretofore hidden from my view. I feel that I can today offer you the ability to render you more valuable service than I have ever been able to render before. I am here today more for the purpose of acknowledging my error than to seek your votes. That I should make this acknowledgment is due to myself as well as to you. Whether you will vote for me is a matter for your consideration only.”

I went on to tell them about the fire and my vote for the appropriation as I have told it to you, and then told them why I was satisfied it was wrong. I closed by saying:

“And now, fellow citizens, it remains only for me to tell you that the most of the speech you have listened to with so much interest was simply a repetition of the arguments by which your neighbor, Mr. Bunce, convinced me of my error.

“It is the best speech I ever made in my life, but he is entitled to the credit of it. And now I hope he is satisfied with his convert and that he will get up here and tell you so.”

He came upon the stand and said:

“Fellow citizens—It affords me great pleasure to comply with the request of Colonel Crockett. I have always considered him a thoroughly honest man, and I am satisfied that he will faithfully perform all that he has promised you today.”

He went down, and there went up from the crowd such a shout for Davy Crockett as his name never called forth before.

I am not much given to tears, but I was taken with a choking then and felt some big drops rolling down my cheeks. And I tell you now that the remembrance of those few words spoken by such a man, and the honest, hearty shout they produced, is worth more to me than all the honors I have received and all the reputation I have ever made, or ever shall make, as a member of Congress.

“NOW, SIR,” concluded Crockett, “you know why I made that speech yesterday. I have had several thousand copies of it printed and was directing them to my constituents when you came in.

“There is one thing now to which I will call your attention. You remember that I proposed to give a week’s pay. There are in that House many very wealthy men—men who think nothing of spending a week’s pay, or a dozen of them for a dinner or a wine party when they have something to accomplish by it. Some of those same men made beautiful speeches upon the great debt of gratitude which the country owed the deceased—a debt which could not be paid by money, particularly so insignificant a sum as $10,000, when weighed against the honor of the nation. Yet not one of them responded to my proposition. Money with them is nothing but trash when it is to come out of the people. But it is the one great thing for which most of them are striving, and many of them sacrifice honor, integrity, and justice to obtain it.”

Climate Change Hoax

Friday, April 16th, 2010

[Blogger's Note: Global temperature variations are not now, nor have they ever been a result of human activity (anthropogenic). In fact scientific evidence suggests that global temperature variations are directly related to solar activity, something that humans can neither affect or prevent. With the discrediting of the Global Warming hoax, and evidence that temperatures are actually declining, the Global Elite seem determined to invent a reason to blame Global Cooling on human activity.]

Himalayan glaciers not melting because of climate change, report finds
Himalayan glaciers are actually advancing rather than retreating, claims the first major study since a controversial UN report said they would be melted within quarter of a century.

Texas Launches Another Legal Challenge to Greenhouse-Gas Rules
The state of Texas is raising the stakes in a months-long legal battle over federal greenhouse-gas rules, filing a lawsuit Thursday that challenges the Obama administration’s ability to take over the state’s air permitting program.

Royal Society issues new Climate Change guide admitting ‘uncertainties’ about the science
“The UK’s leading scientific body has been forced to rewrite its guide on climate change and admit that it is not known how much warmer the Earth will become. The guide was updated after 43 of its members complained that the previous version failed to take into account the opinion of climate change sceptics.”

Global Cooling and the New World Order
“The next few years are going to be very interesting. Watch the global power elite squirming to reposition itself as it slowly distances itself from Anthropogenic Global Warming (”Who? Us? No. We never thought of it as more than a quaint theory…”), and tries to find new ways of justifying green taxation and control. (Ocean acidification; biodiversity; et al). You’ll notice sly shifts in policy spin. In Britain, for example, Chris “Chicken Little” Huhne’s suicidal “dash for wind” will be re-invented as a vital step towards “energy security.” There will be less talk of “combatting climate change” and more talk of “mitigation”. You’ll hear enviro-Nazis like Obama’s Science Czar John Holdren avoid reference to “global warming” like the plague, preferring the more reliably vague phrase “global climate disruption”.”

Cap and Trade License for Your House
After the Cap and Tax Law is passed by the Senate and signed by President Obama everybody’s house must be inspected by Energy Efficiency Police to make sure your house fits in to new guidelines.  The EPA gets to take charge of house inspections and labeling.

Do you license your dog?  Do you license your car?  After the Senate passes and Obama signs the Cap and Trade Bill you will have to license your house before you sell it.  What natural born American would do this to his own country?  Kenya born Barry Soetoro continues to push this UN Cap and Tax Law and it’s about to be passed by the Senate.

Food and Ethanol Shortages Imminent as Earth Enters New Cold Climate Era
Over the next 30 months, global temperatures are expected to make another dramatic drop even greater than that seen during the 2007-2008 period. As the Earth’s current El Nino dissipates, the planet will return to the long term temperature decline brought on by the Sun’s historic reduction in output, the on-going “solar hibernation.” The SSRC further adds that the severity of this projected near term decline may be on the order of 0.9 C to 1.1 C from present levels. Surprising cold weather fronts will adversely impact all northern grain crops including of course wheat and the corn used in ethanol for automotive fuel.

Global Warming Petition Project
The purpose of the Petition Project is to demonstrate that the claim of “settled science” and an overwhelming “consensus” in favor of the hypothesis of human-caused global warming and consequent climatological damage is wrong. No such consensus or settled science exists. As indicated by the petition text and signatory list, a very large number of American scientists reject this hypothesis.

Publicists at the United Nations, Mr. Al Gore, and their supporters frequently claim that only a few “skeptics” remain – skeptics who are still unconvinced about the existence of a catastrophic human-caused global warming emergency.

It is evident that 31,486 Americans with university degrees in science – including 9,029 PhDs, are not “a few.” Moreover, from the clear and strong petition statement that they have signed, it is evident that these 31,486 American scientists are not “skeptics.”

These scientists are instead convinced that the human-caused global warming hypothesis is without scientific validity and that government action on the basis of this hypothesis would unnecessarily and counterproductively damage both human prosperity and the natural environment of the Earth.

Climategate: A Meteorologist Exposes the Global Warming Scam

ClimategateClimategate is a godsend for anyone who has ever expressed skepticism about the environmentalist claim that the Earth is in peril because of mankind’s appetite for carbon-based fuels.

A distinguished, award-winning television weatherman in San Francisco, Brian Sussman deftly melds easy-to-understand scientific facts with provocative commentary. Sick of twisted “facts” mass-marketed to manipulate basic living decisions and common-sense energy consumption, Sussman indicts a cabal of elitist politicians, bureaucrats and activists who front the environmental movement to push intrusive, Marxist-derived policies in a quest to become filthy rich.

By tracing the origins of the current climate scare, Sussman guides the reader from the diabolical minds of Marx and Engles in the 1800s, to the global governance machinations of the United Nations today. Climategate is a call to action, warning Americans that their future is being undermined by a phony pseudo-science aimed at altering every aspect of life in the United States and the world.

Carbon Truth Action International
CTA International is a global citizens response action network dedicated to countering, through peaceful action and education, the Establishment attempt to foist its Global Warming/Climate Change agenda upon the peoples of the world. This includes a global carbon tax, a carbon credit derivatives scheme and the tentacles of a World Government architecture. Members of CTA International honor and respect the environment and the natural world. However, we do believe that GW/CC is a distraction and a diversion from the real ecological and economic problems that humanity faces. It perverts our legitimate ecological concerns and turns them into a weapon against the people. We do not accept the anti-human theory of anthropogenic global warming. The debate on climate change is far from over! If there is a real problem, shouldn’t a real, open, democratic process of debate and discussion reveal the truth? What is the Establishment hiding?

CTA-I is a decentralized, spontaneously self-organizing movement of individuals. This space exists to facilitate the growth of the movement, not to command it. We are funded by no one and we are motivated only by conscience. Please join us!

Global Climate Scam
Mankind has a moral obligation to be a responsible steward of God’s creation for the good of future generations.  Protecting and preserving our earth’s ecosystems must remain a high priority for citizens of every nation.

However, we oppose the alarmist agenda employed by most global warming “evangelists.”  In many cases, their agendas are based upon questionable scientific data and erroneous claims about global climate change. They claim the “science is settled” when, in fact, it is not.  Scientists do not agree on the cause of climate change, the role of carbon dioxide (CO2), the degree to which man contributes to atmospheric CO2, and whether global warming is anything other than a naturally occurring phenomenon.

Global climate changes have been occurring for centuries.  Global warming is most likely occurring today.  But there is much evidence to suggest that temperature fluctuations are part of a natural cycle of climate change, not man-made causes.  To conclude that man bears the brunt of the blame for rising temperatures is morally irresponsible and politically reckless.  Nature itself produces the greatest contributions to climate change.

The unproven ”solutions” being proposed by global warming advocates would ultimately cost billions of dollars to implement and there’s absolutely no scientific proof that these changes would have a material impact on the earth’s climate.  Most of the proposed ”solutions” are based upon massive government bureaucratic programs that will ultimately reduce personal freedoms and impose additional costs upon the citizens of all nations, especially those who can least afford it.  While man can take positive steps to improve some aspects of his natural environment, we must be wary of today’s grandiose claims that appear to be nothing more than a smokescreen for the intrusion of government on private property rights and the exploitation by special interests that stand to financially gain from government largess.

There’s a better approach to addressing the issue of global climate change rather than the campaign of mass hysteria being promoted by most of the media, much of academia, and many of the special interest groups that stand to profit from their “doom and gloom” pandemonium.  The best solutions for preserving our environment will come from private enterprise that truly drives innovation and new technology.  The usual expansion of government bureaucracies and their inherent gross inefficiencies is not the answer rather than more litigation and more government regulation.  If government is to have a role, it should be to reward businesses and consumers that take positive steps to cut pollution and improve energy efficiency.  Internationally there is a role for statesmen to reach out to foreign countries and encourage them to employ the best practices known for reducing air and water pollution.

At the root of the global climate change debate is an intractable claim on the part of those who would readily cripple our economy with new regulations and attack our personal freedoms with intrusion into our homes, automobiles and offices.  The claim is simply that the debate about the causes of global warming is over.  Any advocacy that restricts our first Amendment rights to freely speak to the issue should cause alarm for the defenders of freedom everywhere.  The debate is not over.  It is our duty to see that the debate begins in earnest on a solid footing of civility and real scientific investigation.

Global Warming Scandals and Extortion for ‘Dignity’
How embarrassing to have an “official” United Nations Climate Change Science Compendium caught most recently using an unscientific graphic from Wikipedia. The hockey stick graph selected had never been peer-reviewed, so it should not have been used, but it did back the global warming storyline being pushed. A citation to “Hanno 2009″ was even made as if the graph had been from a published and peer reviewed work. It wasn’t. Having now been caught out, the United Nations has hurriedly replaced it. Isn’t this all a bit sloppy for science?

Al Gore Set To Become First “Carbon Billionaire”

The Skeptics Handbook II
It’s unthinkable. Big Government has spent $79 billion on the climate industry, 3000 times more than Big-oil. Leading climate scientists won’t debate in public and won’t provide their data. What do they hide? When faced with legal requests they say they’ve “lost” the original global temperature records. Thousands of scientists are rising in protest against the scare campaign. Meanwhile $126 billion turned over in carbon markets in 2008 and bankers get set to make billions.

Agenda 21 Alert: Global Warming Freeze
As the federal “Cap and Trade’ bill falters in Congress, and resistance to the EPA’s 18,000 page new regulation document grows, globalists are trying to bring about expanded control, using the discredited excuse of man made global warming, on a State and local level.

Global Warming; The Emerging Science and Understanding
This DVD is an antidote to Gore’s Inconvenient Truth. Designed for the classroom, it is divided into three lessons based on statements by internationally recognized climate scientists covering such topics as climate change in history; data errors in computer models; the impact on global temperature by cosmic rays, solar flares, and cloud formation; the truth about melting ice caps and flooding; and the benefits of increased CO2 levels. It also shows the corruption of science by the United Nations IGPCC which, although advertised as a scientific body, is a political body that requires the scientists it employs to alter their findings to support pre-determined conclusions.

Global Warming and Global Feudalism
A discourse by G. Edward Griffin

Without notes or preparation, Griffin fields questions about the United Nations, global warming, and how these topics are tied together. Here are some of the issues covered:
Is the UN our last best hope for peace or the foundation for global feudalism? Is the UN controlled by leaders of nations or by hidden structures and power brokers? If the latter, who are they? Are American elitists motivated by love of country, desire for international harmony, or something less admirable? Is it possible to get out of the UN, or have we passed the point of no return? With regard to global warming, what is Agenda 21? Is forced population-control justified to save the planet? Is the UN’s report on global warming based on valid science? If not, then what? If the mission of the World Health Organization is not world health, then what? What are the IMF and World Bank and why should anyone care about them? What is the Freedom Force strategy for reversing the trend toward global feudalism?

IPCC Scientists Caught Producing False Data To Push Global Warming
Climate scientists allied with the IPCC have been caught citing fake data to make the case that global warming is accelerating, a shocking example of mass public deception that could spell the beginning of the end for the acceptance of man-made climate change theories.

New Little Ice Age ‘to Begin in 2014′
The observed global warming of the climate of the Earth is not caused by the anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gasses, but by extraordinarily high solar intensity that extended over virtually the entire past century. Rise of sea levels is ‘the greatest lie ever told’
“Despite fluctuations down as well as up, “the sea is not rising,”" says Swedish geologist and physicist , and former chairman of the INQUA International Commission on Sea Level Change, Dr. Nils-Axel Mörner. “”It hasn’t risen in 50 years.” If there is any rise this century it will “not be more than 10cm (four inches), with an uncertainty of plus or minus 10cm”. And quite apart from examining the hard evidence, he says, the elementary laws of physics (latent heat needed to melt ice) tell us that the apocalypse conjured up by Al Gore and Co could not possibly come about.”

TIME TO STRIKE GLOBALLY

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

As April 15th approaches, more and more reasons become apparent as to how very far we’ve fallen, and how important it is to unite and make a stand. Peaceful Non-Compliance is essential, for our governments are too well prepared to make war upon the people, and counting on it by provoking us continuously with tyranny and taxation, all at our expense, stripping us of our wealth, while transferring it to the bankers who’ve planned this all along. It’s economic warfare waged successfully on “WE the PEOPLE”. We’ve been left no choice, obey and pay, or have the IRS make sure you do by withholding your returns and invading your private account in order to steal directly from it.

In the not so United States, they attempt to distract us with partisan politics and people like Palin, who speak of the President being able to save himself and gain a second term by playing “The War Card”. Well just this week all of us learned what that actually means. Murder, without any humanity, and unfortunately, with Americans committing these atrocities, and the horror of the incident not being exclusive, but part of business as usual. We’ve been steadily losing in this illegal, undeclared, invasion of Iraq, using depleted uranium and totally destroying the environment and the people who attempt to try and live their lives there, and who, unfortunately are birthing children with the worst possible birth defects imaginable, because we allow it. Then our soldiers, who are also contaminated, come home to share their disease with their wives and families. Is it any wonder that active military personnel committed suicide in higher numbers last year than were killed in combat in Iraq? Do you realize that we spend over A BILLION DOLLARS A WEEK ON WAR BECAUSE WE ALLOW IT????

And then we have bernanke, and the fda (who do not deserve capitalization due to the crapitilism they’ve committed) telling us that they will have to make some hard decisions about OUR taxes……WHILE THEY PROFIT AND LAUGH ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK BECAUSE WE ALLOW IT!!!! THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO SERVE US, NOT AS THE MAIN COURSE FOR THEIR GREED!

Now those of us who still believe that a political party will save us, think about whether or not your vote actually counts. As long as corporations have “person” status and are not held accountable for their “externalities”, as long as lobbyists run bribes, and the Electoral College exists, as long as voting machines are used, as long as congress passes bills without being required to read them, and can openly state they ignore our Constitution, how can your vote count? How about voting instead, within our counties, for Sheriff’s who uphold our Rights and Constitution? And IGNORING the other distracting SHOW that gives us the ILLUSION of choice?

Have YOU HAD ENOUGH YET? TIRED OF BEING IGNORED, LIED TO, AND STOLEN FROM WHILE BANKS SHOW RECORD PROFITS AND OUR CHILDREN ARE INDUCTED INTO THE MILITARY BECAUSE IT’S THE ONLY JOB AVAILABLE? THINK THAT’S A COINCIDENCE???

Are YOU CONTENT TO CONTINUE TO SIT BY AND ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN TO LOSE THEIR FUTURE? WE’VE ALREADY CONDEMNED OUR DESCENDANTS TO DEBT SLAVERY BY OUR INACTION. WHERE IS YOUR LINE IN THE SAND?

There is A “ME” IN AMERICA! WHAT WILL YOU DO??

Time to withdraw support from “Governments gone Wild”. Time to pull our money and labor away while we educate ourselves and learn what true Patriot’s are and do what they do.

They DEFEND THEIR INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS AND THEIR COUNTRY, NOT THEIR GOVERNMENT, THEIR COUNTRY AGAINST PRESUMED INTERFERENCE BY THEIR GOVERNMENT!!! Well, it’s no longer presumed…

WHAT DO WE DO?

WE emulate the great actions of Gandhi, who tells us we need to be only 3 things in order to be successful:

1) Pro-Active     2) Non-Violent     3) Massive in numbers

Over 300 million of US, in America, over 6 Billion people globally, and ALL OF US have a stake in this! Unless WE want to be stripped, chipped, and dipped, the time for action is APRIL 15-18, culminating APRIL 19th, PATRIOTS DAY!

“WE the PEOPLE” of ALL NATIONS CALL FOR A TOTAL, COMPLETE, PEACEFUL, NON-VIOLENT, COLLECTIVE WITHDRAWAL OF SUPPORT FROM ALL CORPORATE GOVERNMENTS FOR 4 CONSECUTIVE DAYS, APRIL 15-18. WE WILL KEEP OUR MONEY IN OUR POCKETS!

“WE the PEOPLE” of ALL NATIONS HAVE BEEN STOLEN FROM, LIED TO, AND MURDERED FOR PROFIT. WE will take this time in order to step back and pull out of the system in order to educate ourselves about how we got here, the violations of our governments, the history of banking, and in America, we will focus on OUR Constitution. We will learn about the Articles of Freedom, which document violations and offer remedies to our current position. Our CONSTITUTION AND OUR RIGHTS MUST BE DEFENDED!!! The Articles of Freedom will be served at state capitols in America on Patriots Day, and WE WILL SUPPORT THEM AND PAY ATTENTION!

THE TIME FOR FREEDOM TO BE PASSED DOWN TO US WITHOUT OUR INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATION AND SACRIFICE HAS PASSED!

Throughout our history we’ve been taught that some of us, by Divine Right, are meant to rule over others. This is now the 21ST Century and time for a higher level of thinking, and a collective raising of Our Consciousness.

PEACEFUL EVOLUTION, REVOLUTIONARY THINKING, AND THE RESOLUTION TO SEE IT THROUGH.

WE ARE HERE THROUGH OUR COLLECTIVE CIVIL OBEDIENCE.

WE HAVE A DUTY TO OUR COUNTRY

WE HAVE THE MORAL OBLIGATION TO STAND AS ONE

OUR NETWORKING ENERGY

UNITED IN PEACEFUL CIVIL DIS-OBEDIENCE

LET US AWAKEN THE SPIRIT OF THE CREATOR WITHIN US ALL

OUR FLESH HAS FORGOTTEN WHAT OUR SPIRITS REMEMBER

IT IS TIME FOR PEACEFUL WARRIORS TO RISE

APRIL 15-18 WE STRIKE GLOBALLY

APRIL 19 WE CELEBRATE OUR PATRIOTISM & OUR COUNTRIES
